If you have any inclination to enjoy the outdoors, Utah is a wonderful place to live and work. Within a few hours you can go to high desert, fantastic rock formations in Southern Utah, wonderful recreational reservoirs in Northern Utah and the best snow anywhere in the world for skiing. What you need to do is decide what you like to do the best and pick the area in Utah that is closest to your work as your place to live.
The LDS church is the most pervasive church organization in the world when it comes to the average person’s life. If you are not a member of the LDS church, Sunday is the best day for recreation in the entire state of Utah. Also, it is a great day for shopping as well as LDS church members treat Sunday as a day of reflection and don’t participate in recreation or activities that require someone else to serve them.
In the winter, ski slopes are extremely lightly attended, parks are empty and the local lakes have few people on them for either boating or fishing. Another benefit is the proximity of several National Parks and National Forests for you use. Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, Grand Teton and Yellowstone are within a days drive of most areas in Utah.
